Human Interest - Bensalem Township

Tomlinson, Santarsiero, Perry, Re-Elected, Essential Dead Heat in 142nd District

 Unofficial election results in Lower Bucks County. 

Republican Kathleen “K.C.” Tomlinson is the projected winner in her re-election effort to  represent the 18th Legislative District, defeated Democratic challenger Laurie Smith in Tuesday’s election in closer than expected race.

With 100 percent of the precincts reporting, the county board of elections said Tomlinson earned 12,451 votes —or 52.31 percent to Smith’s 11,303 votes, or 47.48 percent, according to unofficial results.

Republican Frank Farry was the projected winner with 61,586 votes for sixth Senatorial District seat over Democrat Anne Marie Mitchel.

In the newly designed 10th Senatorial District race, Democrat Steve Santarsiero was re-elected  winning in a contentious race with 48,362 votes. Republican Matt McCullough received 34,149 votes.

In the 31st legislative district, Perry Warren won easily over developer Bernie Sauer, 60.5 to 39.4, according to unofficial results.

In the 142nd Legislative District, the race to fill the seat vacated by state Rep Frank Farry (R), Republican Joseph F. Hogan leads with 15,090 votes to Mark Moffa’s 15,087, according to unofficial county results posted Wednesday.

According to state law a recount is triggered when the margin of victory for a statewide office is less than or equal to 0.5% of all votes cast for the office or ballot measure. 

The district includes Lower Southampton, part of Middletown Township and part of Northampton as well as the boroughs of Langhorne, Langhorne Manor and Penndel.
