One of the most often asked questions across social media in recent weeks “when is the tree lighting?” will finally come to fruition over the next 24 hours with the double header holiday themed events this Friday and Saturday in Bristol Borough.
The Bristol Borough Tree Lighting event will take place with a Christmas Village starting at 6:00 p.m. The Children’s dance and music by the Sugarplums begins at 6:30 p.m. with the tree lighting at 7:10 p.m. After the tree lighting, Santa will be at The Business Club, 400 Mill Street.
Jim and Mary Jones of Levittown donated the 40-foot tree to Bristol Borough, officials said.
Then on Saturday beginning at 1 pm the Christmas Parade will proceed down Pond Street culminating with Santa Claus and Mrs Claus making their appearance as the holiday celebration winds down.
Bristol Borough Police issued a no parking order on the 100 blocks of Mill St and Radcliffe St beginning at 3 p.m. Friday for the tree lighting event.
For Saturday’s parade there will be no parking from 9 am to 5 pm on all of Pond St, Farragut Avenue,Mill St and the 100 block of Radcliffe St.
Violators will be towed, authorities say.
