From the very top of Mill Street to the edge of the Bristol Docks a flood of people strolled into Bristol Borough for the newly created Bristol Stroll Street Fair Sunday afternoon.
Thousands came to see and experience the new monthly event that officials raved about on a perfectly sunny day.
Vendors from one end of the merchant district to its end engaged customers with prices, deals and so much more.
Bristol Borough resident Nancy Girard, who was coming out of Spads Scoops with Ice Cream in hand said she was amazed at the turnout for the new Sunday event.
Just look at all the people here, in response to a question about the decision to change “First Friday” to a “Sunday Stroll.”
The decision made by the Bristol Borough Business Association to move to a monthly Sunday street fair originally met with sour feelings. From over hearing conversations and asking fellow strollers, it was made abundantly clear the newly crafted date and extended hours was the right direction to go.
Her point was not lost nor the only comment about the date and name change for the outdoor street fair.
Diners sat street side at Itri, on the waterside at the King George Inn II while whiskey rye lovers filled Dad’s Hat to the entrance way with acoustic performers in front of Naked Brewing.
Many others, just by showing up Sunday, endorsed the Bristol Borough Business Associations decision to rebrand and relaunch the monthly vendor – street fair event by the hundreds, if not thousands.
All in all, it was a great day and a great event, capped off by the Bristol Lions Summer Concert series ending the day on a high note, event goers repeatedly noted
A thriving merchant district which hosts successful events is the key to success for Bristol, Council President Ralph DiGuiseppe said.
“It was truly a great day and event for Bristol.”
