Phils’ Blow Out D-Backs; Take 2-0 lead in NLCS

In our best Chris Berman of ESPN fame voice, if you had the Phillies at -9  Tuesday night, you still won as  they wiped out D-backs Tuesday at Citizens Bank Field night taking a  2-0 lead in National League Championship Series by a score of 10-0.

Fueled by homers by Trea Turner and Kyle Schwarber (two), there were plenty of RBI hitters besides Turner and Schwarber: Alex Bohm(2), JT Realmuto(3) Nick Castellanos(1) and Brandon Marsh(1).

They were on fire, and the red flags were flying.

Aaron Nola was magic on the mound for the Phils’ for 6 innings, leaving with seven K’s. Merrill Kelly started for the D-Backs, leaving in the fifth.

The games now shift to Arizona for three straight nights, starting Thursday. On the hill for Arizona will be Brandon Pfaadt, while Phils’ pitcher has yet to be announced.

Fun facts from MLB.com:

The D-backs had gone 46 straight playoff games without being shut out; eighth-longest streak in postseason history

Phils’ Schwarber, with his two HRs last night, has hit 18 postseason homers (tied for seventh in MLB history).

The Houston Astros down 2-0 also take on the Texas Rangers in Game 3 of the ALCS at Minute Maid Park. Cristian Javier vs. Max Scherzer 8:03 p.m. ET, FS1
