SEPTA officials will be on hand at next weeks Bristol Borough Council meeting to discuss proposed plans to revitalize the regional rail station.

Chief Press Officer for SEPTA, Andrew Busch  said in an E-mail exchange earlier this week, “SEPTA will be making a presentation about the station at the Bristol Council meeting on Monday.”

Before Memorial Day weekend Congressman Brian Fitzpatrick (R-PA1) met with SEPTA officials Chairman Pat Deon, Assistant General Manage Fran Kelly, Deputy General Manager Bob Lund, and Chief Engineer Kate O’Connor, and Council President Ralph DiGuiseppe to discuss plans for revitalizing the Bristol Station.

The station, part of the Trenton line, has been in need of work and would be the third area rail station renewed in recent years, with Croydon and the Levittown stations having improvements completed in recent years.

It is thought the funding for the project will come mainly from federal resources, one locally elected official said who asked not to be identified.

Fitzpatrick’s office did not respond to requests for comment or whether he will be at Monday nights council meeting presentation.

As of publication time it is unknown when the was the last time the station had work performed on it.
