Updated: Bristol Flea Market Launch is “Delayed”

Submitted:

Market Coordinator Anthony Soprano in an email Tuesday night said the “the long anticipated Grand Opening of the new Bristol Indoor Flea Market has been put on hold for now until our fire alarm can be updated.

On Wednesday Soprano shared additional about the hold up for the opening.

The connection to the central monitoring station is what needs to be serviced so in the event of a fire and the building is unoccupied, the fire department will get an emergency signal.  As soon as that repair is taken care of, we’ll be up and running, he said.

Soprano said it was like a “bomb was dropped” on him when he was told the opening had to be delayed. Saying the experience was a bit “frustrating.”

The buzz surrounding the grand opening, scheduled for January 4th has been growing ever broke the story about PhilaFleaMarkets renting the space Walmart abandoned. As of last Sunday, according to market officials, 425 of the 500 vendor squares have been rented.

Soprano said in the meantime “My assistant Frank and I will be at the Flea Market all day Saturday and Sunday fielding questions and informing shoppers what’s going on and will also be taking emails so people can be informed about the new date for the grand opening he said.

Soprano encouraged the public to sign up for the Bristol Indoor Flea Market email list  at PhilaFleaMarkets@aol.com  so everyone remains informed about upcoming news regarding the market.

On Thursday morning  a banner will be installed on storefront,  well as the pylon signs on both Rt. 13 and 413.

So in a way, the delayed opening gives  us a little more time to prepare and make things even more perfect for when we do open officially Soprano said.
