If you’re a military veteran or a first responder a special opportunity is being offered to both groups on Flag Day at the Bristol Borough Waterfront.
Bucks County Register of Wills Linda Borbin came to the Bristol Borough Council meeting Monday night to announce the special free offering for Veterans and first responders, considering tying the knot as they say,
Borbin said one of things we’ve been thinking of is how to support our Veterans and first responders who do so much for us and the communities they serve.
There was live music, flowers, a photographer, the whole thing, Borbin said.
Five couples were married that day.
The idea was expanded for Valentines Day this year with 16 couples married, she said.
Borbin said only one person of couples has to be a first responder or service person.
Near and dear to our hearts are Veterans and first responders and Flag Day, we’re going to hold a Vows and Valor wedding ceremony on the Bristol waterfront at The Wharf, Borbin said.
Anyone who might be interested now is the time to apply for the special wedding ceremony and can e-mail the office at emarriage@buckscounty.org or visit the county marriage and licenses website by clicking here
To support the effort local businesses can donate services also by contacting Rachel Lansdberg by e-mailing her. ralandsberg@buckscounty.org.
Everything we do for the weddings is done from donations, and the support of local businesses Bobin said
“We’re really excited to be able to offer this here in Bristol on the beautiful waterfront, she said.
Council President Ralph DiGuiseppe said we want to do all we can for service people and first responders by supporting Vows and Valor.
Hopefully this is a big success and we get a lot of people married, he said.
