Lower Bucks County experienced a marked contrast between the weather forecasted for Saturday and the weather enjoyed by area children, dogs, and even some adults.
A wintery mix of snow and rain was forecast by the National Weather Service (NWS) for Saturday with little or no snow accumulation, though some areas ended up with an inch or more—enough to shovel walks and driveways.
On Sunday, the area was expected to get snow that could accumulate up to an inch.
Now the shift has started and with it comes an alert from the National Weather Service (NWS) for portions of northern Delaware, southern New Jersey, and southeast Pennsylvania.
On Saturday, January 17, at approximately 2:40 p.m., NWS issued a Winter Weather Advisory for Sunday, January 18 from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m.
The advisory states snow is expected with total snow accumulations between 1 and 3 inches. It may mix with rain for a time Sunday morning before becoming all snow on Sunday afternoon.
NWS urges motorists to plan for slippery road conditions. Slow down and use caution while traveling. The latest road conditions for the state you are calling from can be obtained by calling 5 1 1.
