The Warminster Food Bank is pleased to announce that they recently received a donation of 1019 pounds of food from the Chapman Ford dealership in Horsham. The donation was a part of the Ford Motor Company’s “Summer of Community Impact” initiative, done in honor of the country’s 250th anniversary.

“In celebration of America’s 250th birthday, 250 Ford Dealers across the country have teamed up with local nonprofit partners to deliver direct, local support in their communities. We thank Chapman Ford for immediately enrolling their five Ford stores and choosing to host food drives at all of them,” said Richard Lafleur, Dealer Engagement Manager EMA Ford Motor Company.  Michael Roy Chapman, Vice President, Chapman Auto Stores, added, “From my grandfather Roy Chapman, who started Chapman Auto Stores in 1974, to my father Randy, his brother Michael, and now me, community involvement has always and will always be a priority. So being involved with this Ford initiative and choosing to host local food drives was a perfect fit.”

Food bank donations drop off during the summer months. In addition, schools are closed for the summer and that means the end of school lunches for students.  For families dealing with food insecurity, school lunches help to stretch their food budgets, and when school is not in session, many families have to make difficult choices between food and other necessities.  Items collected at Chapman Ford of Horsham will help to bridge the gap for these families at a time when it is most needed. Warminster Food Bank serves over 15,000 people a year in Bucks and Montgomery Counties and distributes over 50,000 pounds of food and other necessities each month.

“We are extremely grateful to Chapman Ford of Horsham, their employees, and their customers for this generous and thoughtful initiative,” said Mike Cerino, Executive Director, Warminster Food Bank. “Food insecurity doesn’t take a vacation. The donated items will make a meaningful difference for the families we serve, and strengthen our ability to support the community throughout the year. Initiatives like Ford’s “Summer of Community Impact” demonstrate how businesses can rally the local community to help their neighbors in need.”
