An informational town hall meeting will be held at Pennsbury High School East to address public concerns regarding the now being constructed Amazon data center in Falls Township
The meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, July 14, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the high school, located at 705 Hood Blvd. in Fairless Hills. Prior to the meeting, Amazon will feature a photo display from 4 p.m. to 5:45 p.m. The session will feature presentations from the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection (DEP), PECO and Amazon Web Services followed by a public question-and-answer period, officials said.
Municipal leaders hope the event will address community fears, and concerns that led to a peaceful demonstration outside the Falls Township Municipal Building before a Board of Supervisors meeting last month.
Following the protest, dozens of attendees filled the township room to voice their opposition during public comment.
During the June meeting, several residents urged supervisors to enact a moratorium on data center developments and temporarily halt construction. Opponents cited potential environmental impacts and raised alarms about possible surges in local electric and water rates.
Plans for the facility were finalized during a public supervisors meeting in March 2025. Resistance to the project took shape shortly after, with residents launching an opposition petition in May.
Amanda Westerman, spokesperson for the grassroots Facebook group Falls Data Center Resistance, told supervisors at the June meeting that the petition had collected 3,800 signatures. Group organizers established the online hub to centralize project updates, ensure transparency, and provide a platform for residents to ask questions and air concerns.
The town hall is open to the public. More information regarding the Amazon data center project and future Board of Supervisors agendas will be posted on the municipal website.
Residents interested in following updates can find more information through the Falls Data Center Resistance Facebook group (Private Group), where organizers continue to post project news and community discussion details.
