Talking with restaurateur Michael Galasso, he recommends that if you are planning on dinner at the restaurant, to do so by mid-June. He also said all catering functions will still be honored.
In closing comments to the community, Galasso said, “The family extends their thanks for the honor of being part of your family’s memories for the past 56 years.”
“Although the building is going away, we look forward to possibly creating new memories at a different location. “
Where did the time go? The year is 2024. Flashback 56 years to 1968, when Galasso’s father, Michael Galasso, Sr first opened the doors to his new restaurant, named Villa Sorrento. The restaurant went through several name changes before choosing the name Michael’s Restaurant and Lounge. Every day since that opening day, Galasso, Sr has been the first one to open the doors and the last one to lock them at the end of the day. When the last day comes, Galasso, Sr will surely be the one to close the doors that final time.
