Falls Township Community Park, according to a press release, will soon be a one-stop-shop for fishing enthusiasts with the addition of two vending machines that will stock bait and tackle supplies.
During this week’s Falls Supervisors work session, the board unanimously approved the installation of two machines next to the park security shed. Falls Township would not own and operate the machines. Instead, the Supervisors authorized a park patron to install the machines and be responsible for their stocking and general upkeep, said Falls Township officials.
Depending on how well the machines fare, Township Manager Matthew Takita said the township would discuss a profit-sharing initiative with the owner beginning in 2025, according to the release.
Supervisors Chairperson Erin Mullen said the addition of fishing supply vending machines is long overdue. “The community wants it,” Mullen said.
Supervisors Chairman Jeff Dence agreed, saying “Absolutely, I’m sure there’s a need. It’s a great addition.”
