Shoppers waited this long to see what would fill the vacant Big Lots space in Fairless Hills and in little more than a week, shoppers who enjoyed the retail discounters prices and choices will see the marketing transformation but the old values will remain the same when their doors reopen for business.

It was first reported by Lower Bucks Source based on information at the time, the Fairless Hills location had a late-June opening scheduledAfter much speculation about an opening, signage on the store’s doors now tells shoppers the real date is Thursday June 5th.

That’s right – Re-opening on Thursday, June 5, the Big Lots’ name stays but shoppers may notice a difference when they enter the refurbished site with its new look  at 500 Lincoln Highway.

There was plenty of consumer uncertainty after their ‘closing sales’ and when they shut their doors in March 2025 due to an overall corporate bankruptcy. When Big Lots decided to file for bankruptcy in September 2024 and after a proposed sale to Nexus Capital Management fell through, they decided to close their doors. Enter Gordon Brothers to save the day and in January 2025, the  investment firm struck a deal with Big Lots.

Gordon Brothers and Big Lots agreed on a deal that would save some Big Lots’ name and stores while others were to be taken over by other companies such as Ollie’s. For Fairless Hills, Big Lots would remain.

Welcome back to Big Lots!
