The oath ceremony was conducted by the Honorable Judge Gary Gilman.
Coyle was appointed to the board following a unanimous vote by the Board of Supervisors last month. This appointment is to complete the unexpired term of Dr. Frederic Weiss, which was set to expire at the end of the year. Coyle’s appointment was made on Friday, September 15, 2023 following the Board’s interview of 10 individuals that expressed interest in the position.
Coyle lives in the Mirror Lake neighborhood with his wife, Lina, and their three daughters, Toma, Eva, and Talia. Both Colin and Lina were raised in Lower Makefield Township and returned in 2018 to raise their own children, after building their careers in Northern Virginia.
Professionally, Coyle serves as Senior Vice President of Sales for Haivision, a video technology company that provides solutions for global broadcasters as well as federal and public safety missions. He is proud to sponsor Haivision’s membership in the Real-Time Crime Center Association and is fortunate to speak on public safety technology partnerships with law enforcement throughout the United States.
Coyle has also served on the Lower Makefield Township Planning Commission since February of 2023.
“I’m honored to be given the opportunity to serve the community by joining the Board of Supervisors in this interim role. The people of the Township and its many wonderful organizations, such as PAA, have given so much to me and my family in my life and I hope that this service gives me the opportunity to return some small measure of that support,” Coyle said upon his appointment.
Acting Chair Suzanne Blundi noted, “We look forward to working with Mr. Coyle for the remainder of 2023 as wee4b collectively work to establish a framework for a successful 2024 and beyond.” She further added, “We were fortunate to have had so many capable and qualified people express an interest in this position. It is a true testament to the strength of our community.”
