Bucks County Community College officials and local elected representatives were joined by recent graduates of the college’s Building and Construction Trades Pre-Apprenticeship program on Friday, Sept. 18 for a HVAC lab groundbreaking ceremony at the college’s Gene and Marlene Epstein Campus at Lower Bucks in Bristol.

BCCC Building and Construction Trades graduate Tim McCloud puts the first shovel in the dirt at the groundbreaking ceremony for a new HVAC lab. Onlookers including college officials, Board of Trustee members, local elected representatives, and fellow students cheer as this represents a significant step toward establishing the HVAC program that is in high demand.

The HVAC lab project was designed by Lenhardt Rodgers Architecture + Interiors based in Fort Washington, PA. The new specialized learning space will teach students how to install, operate, and repair heating, ventilation, and air conditioning equipment in both indoor and outdoor spaces to reflect actual working conditions. The in-demand HVAC training program is a 12-week course that includes classroom theory and hands-on skills development. Instruction includes U.S. Department of Energy’s Industrial Training & Assessment Center energy efficiency training.
