PSP Trevose Barracks Crash Reports: Vehicle vs. Deer, Slush, Falling Snow Cause 2 Separate Accidents

State Police Trevose Barracks Crash Reports Jan 16 to Jan 21, 2026 

1/16/26 – Bensalem Twp. 

This crash occurred at approximately 7:19 a.m. as a 2014 Nissan Altima traveled north on 1-95 in the right lane and a 2024 Freightliner truck was traveling north on 1-95 in the middle lane. The truck changed lanes from the middle lane to the right lane and struck the Nissan’s rear left corner. The impact caused the Nissan to lose control and cross all traffic lanes to the left. It struck the guide rail along the left side of the roadway before resting facing north in the left median. The truck pulled onto the shoulder. No injuries were reported on scene. The Nissan was towed from the scene.

1/17/26 – Bensalem Twp.
This crash occurred at approximately 12:17 p.m. on a snowy night as a 2015 Dodge Dart traveled  north on 1-95 in the right lane. The Dart lost control and left the road. The rear right corner of the vehicle struck a light pole causing the light pole to fall over. The vehicle was able to safely come to a stop on the right shoulder. No injuries reported on scene, but the vehicle was towed.

1/18/26 – Middletown Twp.
The accident occurred at approximately 7:58 a.m. when a 2018 KIA Sportage traveled west on I-295 in the left lane, encountering slushy road conditions and began to slide. The driver came to a stop after unsuccessfully attempting to regain control and struck the guide wire on the left side of the roadway.

1/18/26 – Lower Makefield Twp.
This crash occurred at approximately 4:32 a.m. as a 2023 Civic Del Sol traveled westbound in the left lane on I-295 in Lower Makefield Township. Multiple deer were standing in the roadway and the vehicle was unable to avoid contact. The Civic, subsequently, hit a deer,  then hit the guide rail, spun and came to a stop on the right shoulder. No injuries were reported on scene. State Police saw major damage and deer hair on the vehicle and also major damage to the guide rail. Rob’s Towing, Lower Makefield Township Police Department, and PennDOT were on scene to assist.

1/21/26 – Middletown Twp. 
This crash occurred at the bottom of the Business Route 1 to State Road 295 east ramp at approximately 8:20 a.m. A 2019 Hyundai Santa Fe, which was traveling,  behind a 2023 Toyota Corolla were both merging onto 295 eastbound ramp. The Toyota was attempting to merge onto 295 eastbound when it slowed down causing the Santa Fe to rear end the Toyota. The Santa Fe sustained damage to its front bumper area and the Toyota sustained damage to its rear end bumper area.
