Warminster Township is proud to recognize the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America Local 167 for their generous pro bono work replacing the porch and ADA-accessible ramp at the Warminster Community Park WREC Building, home to the Parks and Recreation Department and the Warminster Tax Collector’s Office.

The project was made possible through the coordination of Warminster Board of Supervisors Chair Ken Hayes, who connected the Township Parks and Recreation Department with Carpenters Local 167.  Their skilled members donated their time, craftsmanship, and expertise to complete the much-needed improvements, ensuring safer and more accessible entry to the facility, according to a township release.

“The volunteer work at the WREC building is not the first improvement project local trade unions have assisted the Parks and Recreation Department with,” said Ken Hayes.  “Their contributions demonstrate the positive impact local skilled trades have on the quality of life for Warminster residents and visitors.”

In addition to this work, officials noted, multiple local trade unions partnered with the Township to repair Bank Shot Basketball backboards damaged in 2023.  These repairs were completed at no cost to the community, thanks to contributions from Sheet Metal Workers Local Union No. 19 and International Union of Painters and Allied Trades District Council 21.

These trade unions stepped forward to restore specialized equipment, allowing residents to once again enjoy the unique and inclusive Bank Shot Basketball experience at Warminster Community Park, a spokesperson for the township told Lower Bucks Source.

“The township extends its sincere appreciation to all participating unions for their dedication to community service and their commitment to improving public facilities.”
