Credit: Submitted

Historic Bristol Borough has launched a Christmas Parade Website which features application forms, event history, contact information, and event updates for this year and beyond.

The Parade Committee has outlined key planning details for the annual Historic Bristol Borough Christmas Parade on its newly launched website. The event is scheduled for Nov. 28, with a rain date of Nov. 29, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Earlier this year Ellen Scancella after serving as committee chair for  21 years retired from that role. Scancella said coordinating the parade was a labor of love, thanking everyone who supported her efforts leading the committee for more than two decades.

Now with a newly formed organizing committee planning for this year’s parade has begun with the intention of  maintaining the long-standing tradition.

Parade organizers are currently seeking participants, including:

  • String bands, school bands, and musical groups

  • Entertainers and performance groups

  • Community organizations and non-profits

  • Businesses

  • Floats and decorated vehicles

Interested groups can register through the parade’s online application form. Members of the committee note that submission does not guarantee entry. All entries will be reviewed to create a safe, organized, and enjoyable parade for everyone, a parade spokesperson said.

Additional details, including lineup and event logistics, will be shared with accepted participants at a later date. If you have any questions, feel free to reach out at christmasparade@bristolboro.com.

“The Christmas Parade Committee looks forward to seeing the community come together again to celebrate the holiday season in Bristol Borough.”
