Last month the rotarians from the Morrisville-Yardley donated food and gift cards to a local faith based non profit in order to fight hunger during this challenging moment in time for many families.

The Morrisville-Yardley Area Rotary Club donated 50 pounds of potatoes, 66 servings of fruit, 22 pounds of pasta, 20 bottles of hand sanitizer and $800 in Giant gift cards to Interfaith Food Alliance (IFA) on West Maple Avenue in Morrisville.

A small contingent of volunteers from the Rotary Club helped to unload the donations in late July.

“We are thrilled to be in a position to provide continued support to this amazing charity” Board Secretary Mike Yager said. “I appreciate the Board’s unanimous support in pursuing the grant monies that will go directly to families in our community.

The Rotary is a worldwide organization of business and professional leaders that provides humanitarian service, encourages high ethical standards in all vocations, and helps build goodwill and peace in the world.

The Morrisville-Yardley club, in the past, has worked diligently to support a number of local initiatives such as the recent food drive and virtual car festival.

I’d also like to specifically thank club members Tom Mack, Hal Long, Denny Lanctot, Juan Proano, Ted Fletcher, Dave Sample and our Vice President Danielle Larison for continuing to fight to put food on the tables of our neighbors. said Yager.

IFA is a faith based communities joining together to fight hunger in the Morrisville (PA) School District by educating the community, advocating for those in need, and feeding  hungry children and their families. They operate the Family Backpack Center which provides a  supplemental food source for children and their families in the Morrisville School District who have been identified as food insecure.
