Shapiro Administration Highlights Notable PennDOT Projects in Bucks County

The Shapiro Administration is highlighting more Than $1.2 Billion of infrastructure investments in Philadelphia Region in 2025 many of which impact Lower Bucks County roads and motorists, with 128 construction projects underway worth $3.4 billion across Southeast Pennsylvania

The PennDOT Engineering District 6 team is nearing the end of the 2025 construction season to improve travel and safety on state highways and bridges across Bucks County.

“This year we continued to advance our infrastructure program with 128 projects underway worth more than $3.4 billion across the region,” said PennDOT District 6 Executive Din Abazi in regards to the Philadelphia region of roadways. “This investment highlights our progress, care, and commitment to building, preserving, and improving safety and dependability on our roadway network. We thank the public for their patience throughout the construction season and thank our team and industry partners for their diligence and dedication delivering these projects.”

PennDOT has been diligent at work improving the region’s roads and bridges throughout the year, improving more than 5,700 miles of roads, including over 1,700 miles of paving, and beginning work to repair, replace, or preserve 396 bridges from January through November of this year, according to the transportation officials.

The most notable project completed or substantially completed this year is the U.S. 1 RhC2 Improvement Project in Bensalem and Middletown townships with a cost of $116 million.

The Brownsville Road Bridge Replacement in Lower Southampton and Middletown townships which cost $11.2 million was the most notable project that began construction in 2025.
