Some local governments in Lower Bucks County have restarted conducting municipal business again using or planning virtual public meetings. 

Localities cancelled scheduled in public meetings last month as mitigation and social distancing efforts and directives were put into place by state and local officials. 

The Board of Supervisors in Middletown Township held their first meeting virtual meeting Monday night since the COVID-19 pandemic swept over  the area and cancelling scheduled meetings since last month. 

Lower Makefield will held  a  virtual *Supervisors meeting on April 1. Falls Township scheduled to hold theirs, next Monday. 

As of Tuesday morning Bensalem, Bristol Borough and Township, Morrisville, Penndel Yardley Boroughs have yet to announce similar plans so far.

Tullytown announced last week the scheduled council meeting  was rescheduled to April 28 with plans to also hold its meeting online too. Borough officials said details for the meeting would be announced soon. 

Officials for each of the localities was contacted by Lower Bucks Source Tuesday morning. 

The Bucks County Commissioners began holding virtual news briefings and town halls earlier this month, with one scheduled meeting cancelled to due a “glitch” officials said. 

For last nights Middletown Supervisors meeting a call in number was provided for public comment with the additional option of texting questions or comments also while the meeting was live. 

While reviewing agenda items the board provided participants with time to join the meeting for commenting purposes which went off with no issues except for brief silent pauses most likely due to stream feed delays. 

Among the agenda items approved the board voted to extend the due date for  Township
Real Estate Taxes face period from July 1, 2020 to July 30, 2020 keeping in line with a similar extension the Bucks County Commissioners approved earlier this month.
