Municipal taxes in Bristol Borough will remain at the same levels for 2022, as council approved next years spending plan at Monday nights meeting.
The total spending plan costs a little more than $12.5 million for 2022, with no taxes increases in the master plan.
Last year the borough was able to lower taxes by a little more than 11 percent due to sale of the Grundy Arena.
The 2022 budget calls for funding borough pension plans for the full amount of Minimum Municipal Obligation for the first since 2018.
The Police Department will be funded to staff 12 full time officers and five part time officers. Borough officials said last night they are planning to hire three part-timers in January, as the ranks have been “decimated” with departures of of officers for full time positions with other departments.
Under capital improvements for 2022, the borough will allocate $30 K for the purchase of a new animal control vehicle and $25 K to purchase a new code enforcement vehicle.
Borough Manger James Dillon said the purchases are needed for both due to the “bad condition” the current vehicles are in
Waste collection fees will remain at the $395 cost as last year.
Council President Ralph DiGuiseppe said he was really proud of the work being done by members and Dillon to keep costs down and with no tax increases.
We’ve worked really hard to maintain services at a high level, while keeping taxes flat, he said at last months budget ,discussion meeting.
