Lower Makefield to Hold Styrofoam Recycling Event Saturday; Boy Scouts to collect Holiday Lighting

Lower Makefield Township will hold a Styrofoam recycling event Saturday at the township community building from 10 am to noon. 

Residents can bring clean white Styrofoam used for shipping purposes but officials say, no food packaging and packing peanuts will be accepted.  

Officials say the Styrofoam collected will be used to make picture frames and furniture trim instead of being disposed of the landfill.

Concurrently local Boy Scouts will be collecting holiday lights for recycling purposes also and Big Oak Citgo will have a box at the collection site for the recycling of strands of holiday lights also. 

The event is sponsored by the Lower Makefield Township’s Environmental Advisory Council. 

The Lower Makefield Township building is located at 1100 Edgewood Road, Yardley PA.
