Yardley Borough Elects New Council President

Monday nights Yardley Borough Council reorganization meeting, went as smooth as possible as new leadership was elected and new members sworn in.

After a moment of silence honoring the passing of “friend of the borough” former Congressman Mike Fitzpatrick, council went right to work with electing David Bria unanimously as council president.

Bria’s election was expected by many outsiders now there is a democratic majority now in place.

Quickly thereafter Caroline Thompson was nominated and elected by council to be vice president, also unanimously.

Yardley Councilpersons Kim Segal-Morris and John McCann were sworn in by the Hon. Gary Gilman.

Ria told LBS Tuesday he expects the remaining vacancy “to be done no later than mid -February at the latest.”
