The deadline for PA Real ID is fast approaching.
Starting May 7, 2025, a federally accepted form of identification — such as a REAL ID, U.S. passport, or military ID will be required to board domestic flights and enter certain federal facilities, according to PA officials.
To get a REAL ID, you must provide:
- One document proving identity and lawful status.
- One document proving your Social Security number.
- Two documents proving your Pennsylvania residency.
Some applicants need additional documents, including non-U.S. citizens, CDL holders, and those updating their name or date of birth.
To help expedite processing for those who wish to obtain a REAL ID, PennDOT is hosting Real ID Days on Monday May 5th and May 12th from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Bensalem Driver License Center: located at 4201 Neshaminy Boulevard in Bensalem, PennDOT said.
CDL License Holders are currently NOT eligible to apply for REAL ID online – you must apply in person at a PennDOT Driver License Center. Click here for more information on Real ID for CDL Licenses.
Transportation Worker Identification Credentials, or TWIC Cards , are on TSA’s list acceptable identification to board a domestic flight. If you have a TWIC card, that will be acceptable ID for boarding a domestic flight after May 7, 2025.
