Bucks DA Names Greg Beidler Chief of County Detectives

The Bucks County District Attorney’s Office announced through their Facebook page, the new Chief of County Detectives to be Greg Beidler.

Beidler replaces Chief Detective Martin McDonough, who retired last week.

“I am proud and honored to announce that Greg Beidler will be our new Chief of Detectives,” Schorn announced at a staff meeting at the Bucks County Justice Center.

Beidler has been a Bucks County law enforcement officer since 1986, the year he graduated from the Montgomery County Police Academy. From 1986 to 1988, Beidler worked as a patrolman for the Chalfont Borough Police Department. He left Chalfont and joined the Bristol Township Police Department in 1988, where he had a distinguished career that spanned three decades.

Beidler was promoted to Detective with Bristol Township in 1995, and his unrelenting investigative work brought countless defendants to justice.

In December 2018, he retired from Bristol Township and joined the elite ranks of the Bucks County Detectives.

While at Bristol Township and with the Bucks County Detectives, Beidler has been involved in several high-profile investigations that have resulted in the arrests of several violent offenders.
Over his career, Beidler’s dedication and professionalism has earned him numerous commendations.

In addition to serving his community, Beidler has also served his country with a combined 24 years of service with the U.S. Army, Army Reserves and the National Guard.
