U.S. Representative Brian Fitzpatrick announced the securement of one million dollars in federal funding which will be used to help individuals and families who are living below the poverty line achieve economic stability and no longer need government assistance through the Bucks County Opportunity Council.
The Economic Self-Sufficiency program promotes financial self-sufficiency by connecting families with resources such as education, transportation, and health insurance. Households will not only be given the opportunity to increase income, but also to increase their social capital through a network of mentors and peers to support self-sufficiency and community engagement, said Fitzpatrick.
It is through the engagement of community members that these projects are possible, Fitzpatrick said.
In recent weeks Fitzpatrick has released similar announcements in what appears to be a direct reminder the congressman can, and does bring millions in funding back to the district (PA 1) every year since being elected.
To reach out to the congressman, call his local office in Langhorne anytime at (215) 579-8102, the release says.
