Inmate Dies at Bucks County Correctional Facility

A man died on Saturday at the Bucks County Correctional Facility a county spokesperson confirmed Monday morning.

The inmate was taken to Doylestown Hospital where he was pronounced dead, said County Spokesperson James O’Malley.

The mans death is being investigated by the Bucks County Department of Corrections and Bucks County Detectives, he said.

The most recent death occurring at the jail was last December, according to the Philadelphia Inquirer.

In April of 2020 the family of a Philadelphia woman who died at the jail, filed a federal lawsuit, claiming the jail failed to prevent the death of, Brittany Ann Harbaugh, 28, a mother of three, who died of complications of opiate withdrawal four days after she was incarcerated on a probation violation in 2018, according to GoErie.com

The identify of the man who died Saturday was not released,  as this is an ongoing investigation, O’Malley said.
