Robin McClain McNamara, 51, was sentenced Wednesday in Bucks County Court to a period of incarceration followed by a lengthy probation for a 2025 meat cleaver assault.

The sentence was handed down by Common Pleas Judge Charissa J. Liller following McNamara’s conviction in a waiver trial last week.  Judge Liller ordered McNamara to serve one year less a day to two years less a day in the Bucks County Correctional Facility, followed by three consecutive years of probation.

As part of her sentence, McNamara must also undergo a mental health evaluation, complete mandated decision-making courses and maintain no contact with the victim.

On April 7, 2026, Judge Liller found McNamara guilty of felony aggravated assault and misdemeanor counts of simple assault, recklessly endangering another person, possession of an instrument of crime, and harassment.

The charges originated from a July 12, 2025, incident investigated by the Central Bucks Regional Police Department. Officers responding to a residence near South Main and State Streets in Doylestown discovered a victim suffering from severe head trauma, including a deep laceration that reached the skull.

McNamara was apprehended at the scene with blood-stained clothing, and police recovered a cleaver-style knife used in the attack.

“I want to commend Deputy District Attorney Carrie Worton for her exceptional work in navigating this incredibly difficult and sensitive case,” District Attorney Joe Khan said. “Her work on this case ensured that the defendant was held accountable for this dangerous attack while securing the mental health mandates necessary to protect the public moving forward.”
