NWS Issues Wind Advisory, Expects Hazardous Weather for Saturday

If you’re planning to be out and about Saturday you might want bring an anchor or something with a lot of weight to it as the intense high winds are expected to slam the area, forecasters say.

The National Weather Service has issued a wind advisory for Saturday stretching from 1 pm to 1 am.

The service says gusts could potentially reach 45 mph, thus the need to “batten down the hatches.”

Additionally, a line of showers and storms moving through during the evening will bring the potential for damaging winds and a couple brief tornadoes, said forecasters.

Be sure and secure any outdoor holiday decorations today before the wind picks up, the weather service suggests.
