PennDOT announced paving and roadway repair operations will occur at night on I-76 (Schuylkill Expressway) in Philadelphia under a $37.9 million project to resurface and repair nearly five miles of the interstate, the associated on-and-off ramps, and more than 20 bridges.
Motorists are advised of the following travel restrictions:
- Monday, October 14, through Thursday, October 17, from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. the following morning, a lane closure will be in place on sections of eastbound and westbound I-76 (Schuylkill Expressway) between the Montgomery Drive and 30th Street Station interchanges for paving and concrete roadway repair.
- Tuesday, October 15, and Wednesday, October 16, from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. the following morning, the ramp from westbound I-76 (Schuylkill Expressway) to Girard Avenue will be closed and detoured for paving. Motorists will be directed to continue on westbound I-76 (Schuylkill Expressway), exit at Montgomery Drive and use the ramp to eastbound I-76 to access Girard Avenue.
- Tuesday, October 15, and Wednesday, October 16, from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. the following morning, the ramp from Spring Garden Street to westbound I-76 (Schuylkill Expressway) will be closed and detoured for milling. Motorists will be directed to follow the posted detour route to access westbound I-76 (Schuylkill Expressway).
