PennDOT: 3 Month Project Slated For Bensalem State Roads Starting in September

PennDOT announced reconstruction of the Neshaminy/Rockhill Drive Interchange will close the turn lane to the ramp from westbound Rockhill Drive to northbound U.S. 1 for approximately three months under PennDOT’s $116 million project to reconstruct, widen, and improve a three-mile section of U.S. 1 in Bucks County.

Motorists are advised of the following travel restriction:

• Monday, September 9, to approximately Sunday, December 15, the left turn lane from westbound Rockhill Drive to the ramp to northbound U.S. 1 will close. Motorists will be directed to use southbound Old Lincoln Highway and eastbound Street Road (Route 132) to access northbound U.S. 1.

Drivers are advised to allow extra time when traveling near the work area because backups and delays may occur.

The work is part of PennDOT’s U.S. 1/RC2 contract that will reconstruct and widen U.S. 1 from south of the Rockhill Drive Interchange to north of the Penndel/Business U.S. 1 Interchange. This project also will improve the U.S. 1 interchanges at Neshaminy, Penndel/Business U.S. 1, and Rockhill Drive. Additionally, the bridges over Rockhill Drive, the Neshaminy Creek, and Business U.S. 1/CSX/SEPTA will be replaced.
