The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced Thursday that bridge construction is scheduled next week on U.S. 1 and Rockhill Drive under a $116 million project to reconstruct, widen, and improve a three-mile section of U.S. 1 in Bensalem and Middletown townships.
Motorists are advised of the following travel restrictions:
- Monday, April 1, from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., 10-minute traffic stoppages are planned on eastbound Rockhill Drive between Horizon Boulevard and Mall Boulevard.
- Tuesday, April 2, from 8:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. the following morning, 10-minute traffic stoppages are planned in both directions on Rockhill Drive between Horizon Boulevard and Mall Boulevard.
- Tuesday, April 2, from 8:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. the following morning, a right lane closure is planned on southbound U.S. 1 between Route 413 (Bellevue Avenue) and Rockhill Drive. The alternate date if this work is postponed due to weather is Wednesday, April 3.
Drivers are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work areas because backups and delays will occur. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.
