PennDOT announced Interstate 95 bridge construction will close Fraley Street and Tacony Street next week in Northeast Philadelphia.
Motorists are advised of the following travel restrictions:
- Tuesday, September 10, through Friday, September 13, from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., Fraley Street will close between James Street and Tacony Street for demolition of the existing I-95 bridge over James Street. Traffic from James Street will detour left on Bridge Street to Tacony Street. Traffic from Tacony Street will detour right on Bridge Street then right on Eadom Street.
- Thursday, September 12, from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. the following morning, Tacony Street will close between Aramingo Avenue and Bridge Street for construction of the new southbound I-95 viaduct at Tacony Street. Traffic from Aramingo/Harbison Avenue will detour right on Bridge Street then left on Tacony Street. Traffic from Tacony Street will detour right on Bridge Street then left on Aramingo/Harbison Avenue.
Lane Closures due to bridge inspections scheduled for next week on Interstate 95, Interstate 76, and other state highways in Philadelphia.
Motorists are advised of the following travel restrictions:
- Tuesday, September 10, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., a right lane closure is scheduled on northbound U.S. 1 (Roosevelt Expressway) at the I-76 West Interchange.
- Tuesday, September 10, from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m., a right lane closure is scheduled on southbound Walnut Lane between Park Lane and Magdalena Street.
- Wednesday, September 11, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., a left lane closure is scheduled on northbound I-95 between the I-76 West/Valley Forge and the 611 North (Broad Street) interchanges.
- Thursday, September 12, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., a right lane closure is scheduled on westbound I-76 at the I-676 Interchange.
Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work areas because slowdowns may occur. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.
