PennDOT announced that high-friction resurfacing operations will continue on several state highways in Bucks County. The project started last week and continues to mid-November.

If you travel these roadways, alternating lane closures with flagging will continue weekdays through Tuesday, November 19, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on the following state highways.

  • Route 413 (Durham Road) between New Hope Road and York Road in Buckingham Township.
  • Ferry Road between Swamp Road and Gordon Road in Plumstead Township.
  • Bridgetown Pike between Route 213 (Maple Avenue) and Bridgestone Drive in Lower Southampton Township.
  • Allentown Road between Ridge Valley Road and Thousand Acres Road in West Rockhill Township.
  • Swamp Road between Rushland-Jamison Road and Mill Creek Road in Wrightstown Township.
  • York Road between Byecroft Road and Street Road in Buckingham Township.

Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work areas because backups and delays will occur. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.

The work is part of a $4.9 million project to install High-Friction Surface Treatment (HFST) on several state highways across Bucks, Chester, Delaware, Montgomery and Philadelphia counties, to provide increased friction and grip on pavements in wet and dry conditions.
