PennDOT, the City of Philadelphia, and SEPTA invite the public to participate in two online meetings to learn about the “Route for Change: The Boulevard Reimagined” long-term study.

These meetings will provide an opportunity to speak directly with representatives from PennDOT, the City, and SEPTA regarding potential new roadway designs and transit services along the Boulevard.

  • Wednesday, January 29, 6:30 p.m. – Join a virtual Town Hall to discuss how roadway and transit options could affect neighborhood travel. Information from the four open houses held in December 2024 and January 2025 will be highlighted. Attend by clicking on this Microsoft Teams meeting link.
  • Monday, February 3, 6:30 p.m. – Join a virtual Transit Talk for an in-depth review of the potential SEPTA options being studied. Attend by clicking on this Microsoft Teams meeting link.

In collaboration with the City and SEPTA, PennDOT has launched additional studies to refine the 2040 Alternatives to Transform Roosevelt Boulevard. This study aims to establish a long-term vision for enhancing safety, accessibility, and reliability for all users, including pedestrians. It will address local and regional travel needs, promote changes in land use patterns, and improve connectivity and mobility within local communities while creating economic opportunities. Key components of this project include changes to roadway configurations and the implementation of high-quality transit services, along with potential locations for transit stations along Roosevelt Boulevard. These improvements are essential to meet the project’s long-term goals and address the identified needs.

Please note that internet access or a computer or mobile device is required to view the virtual meetings. Individuals with special needs or requiring assistance are encouraged to contact PennDOT Project Manager Alexa Harper at c-alharper@pa.gov.

For more information on the study and to participate in the survey, visit PennDOT’s 2040 Alternatives to Transform the Boulevard web page. Additional resources are available on the City’s Roosevelt Boulevard: Route for Change web page.
