PennDOT announced work will continue next week on Interstate 476 and on I-76 (Schuylkill Expressway) in Philadelphia.
Motorists who travel I-476 or I-76 (Schuylkill Expressway) are advised of the following travel restrictions:
- Monday, October 28, through Friday, November 1, from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. the following morning, a lane closure will be in place on sections of northbound and southbound I-476 between the I-76 (Schuylkill Expressway) and I-95 interchanges for paving, bridge repair, and guiderail installation.
- Monday, October 28, through Friday, November 1, from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. the following morning, a lane closure will be in place on eastbound and westbound I-76 (Schuylkill Expressway) between Matsonford Road and I-476 for bridge repair.
- Monday, October 28, and Friday, November 1, from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. the following morning, the ramp from westbound I-76 (Schuylkill Expressway) to Girard Avenue will be closed and detoured for paving. Motorists will be directed to continue on westbound I-76 (Schuylkill Expressway), exit at Montgomery Drive and use the ramp to eastbound I-76 to access Girard Avenue.
- Monday, October 28, through Thursday, October 31, from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. the following morning, a lane closure will be in place on sections of eastbound and westbound I-76 (Schuylkill Expressway) between the U.S. 1 and 30th Street Station interchanges for paving, concrete roadway repair and line painting.
- Thursday, October 31, and Friday, November 1, from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. the following morning, the ramp from Spring Garden Street to westbound I-76 (Schuylkill Expressway) will be closed and detoured for concrete roadway repair. Motorists will be directed to follow the posted detour route to access westbound I-76 (Schuylkill Expressway).
Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work areas because significant backups and delays will occur. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.
