PennDOT announced the closure of Rockhill Drive and two U.S. 1 ramps in Bensalem Township has been postponed due to weather.
Motorists are advised of the following revised travel restrictions:
- From 8 p.m. Friday, April 25, to 5 a.m., Monday, April 28, Rockhill Drive will be closed at Horizon Boulevard. The ramps from northbound U.S. 1 to Rockhill Drive and westbound Rockhill Drive to southbound U.S. 1 will also close at this time.
- Motorists on northbound U.S. 1 heading for the east side of Rockhill Drive will be detoured north on U.S. 1, exit at Penndel/Business U.S. 1, turn left onto southbound Old Lincoln Highway, turn left onto Bristol Road, and turn right onto Neshaminy Boulevard to access Rockhill Drive.
- Motorists on northbound U.S. 1 heading for the west side of Rockhill Drive will be detoured north on U.S. 1, exit at Penndel/Business U.S. 1, and turn left onto southbound Old Lincoln Highway to access Rockhill Drive.
- Motorists on westbound Rockhill Drive heading for southbound U.S. 1 will be detoured north on U.S. 1, exit at Penndel/Business U.S. 1, and turn left onto southbound Old Lincoln Highway to access the ramp to southbound U.S. 1.
Local access will be maintained. Drivers are advised to allow extra time when traveling near the work areas because backups and delays will occur. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.
The work is part of PennDOT’s $116 million U.S. 1/RC2 contract that will reconstruct and widen U.S. 1 from south of the Rockhill Drive Interchange to north of the Penndel/Business U.S. 1 Interchange.
