PennDOT announced surveying operations are planned next week on southbound I-95 in Northeast Philadelphia.
Motorists are advised of the following travel restriction:
- Tuesday, January 7, and Wednesday, January 8, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., a left lane closure will be in place on southbound I-95 between the Aramingo Avenue and Columbus Boulevard interchanges.
Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work area because significant backups and delays will occur. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.
The surveying is part of the design phase for PennDOT’s upcoming I-95/GR6 project that will reconstruct southbound I-95 and its structures between Frankford Avenue and Race Street. Section GR6 is scheduled for construction in 2026.
