PennDOT announced temporary construction barrier installation is planned at night next week on southbound I-95 under a $355.3 million project to reconstruct and improve northbound I-95 between Wheatsheaf Lane and Margaret Street, replace three bridges, and rehabilitate two ramps at the Betsy Ross Bridge Interchange in Northeast Philadelphia.
Motorists are advised of the following travel restrictions:
- Monday, June 9, through Friday, June 13, from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. the following morning, lane closures will be in place on southbound I-95 between the Cottman Avenue and Allegheny Avenue interchanges.
- Monday, June 9, through Friday, June 13, from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. the following morning, the southbound I-95 far right lane (collector-distributor) will be closed through the Betsy Ross Bridge Interchange.
Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work areas because significant backups and delays may occur. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.
