Vistra and its leading Pennsylvania retail electricity brand, Dynegy, announced a $5,000 donation to support the work and mission of the Bucks County Opportunity Council (BCOC), which provides assistance with housing, food, taxes, and energy bills for low-income families in Bucks County Wednesday.
Vistra and BCOC representatives were joined by U.S. Congressman Brian Fitzpatrick (R-1) on Wednesday to present the check to Opportunity Council officials at their Bristol offices on Veterans Highway.
“It’s important for us to invest in the communities where we operate and where our customers live,” said Colin Fitzsimmons, Vistra’s director of government affairs. “We work closely with our neighbors and local leaders to target our grants to organizations working to strengthen communities by helping individuals and families overcome challenges. We couldn’t be prouder to help BCOC meet its mission for those it serves.”
“We’re privileged to work with partners like Vistra and Dynegy to help us meet the needs of our most vulnerable residents,” Bucks County Opportunity Council Chief Executive Officer Erin A Lukoss said. “We do all we can to support children and their families, especially those who have overcome challenges or adversity. This grant will go a long way to helping those in need in Bucks County.”
Since 2019, Vistra and Dynegy have donated more than half a million dollars in Pennsylvania to support partners who are making a difference locally. That means investing in food pantries, schools, fire departments, homeless shelters, and other community organizations.
“BCOC is on the front lines of our community every single day – helping families stay in their homes, keep the lights on, and put food on the table,” said Rep. Brian Fitzpatrick (PA-1). “Over the years, I’ve worked closely with BCOC to strengthen that safety net and scale solutions that move families from crisis to stability. This investment from Vistra and Dynegy doesn’t just support that work-it drives it forward. It will expand BCOC’s reach at a time when too many are falling through the cracks. I’m grateful for their investment in our community and their commitment to supporting our efforts to ensure no one is left behind.”
