Scudder Falls Bridge Travel Restrictions for the Upcoming Week

 The Scudder Falls Bridge Replacement Project’s full schedule of travel restrictions for the week of February 2 is as follows:

Pennsylvania side

  • I-295 WB (PA-Bound) – Intermittent off-peak single-lane pattern – if needed for construction activities – permitted west of the new Scudder Falls Toll Bridge 7 p.m. to 2 p.m. (next day) Monday, Feb. 3, through Friday, Feb. 7.
  • I-295 EB approaching the Scudder Falls Toll Bridge and continuing across the bridge to NJ where the designation becomes I-295 SB – Off-peak intermittent single-lane travel – if needed for construction activities – 10 a.m. to 6 a.m. (next day) Monday, Feb. 3, through Friday, Feb. 7.
  • Woodside Road east of Taylorsville Road – Intermittent brief-duration traffic stoppages for mobilization and construction activities related to the construction of connector ramp to shared bike-pedestrian walkway on the new Scudder Falls Toll Bridge’s upstream span.
  • Taylorsville Road north of I-295  Intermittent single-lane patterns with possible flagger-controlled travel 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday, Feb. 3, to Friday, Feb. 7.
  • Taylorsville Road south of I-295 – Intermittent single-lane patterns with possible flagger-controlled travel 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday, Feb. 3, to Friday, Feb. 7.
  • River Road/PA Route 32 – Possible intermittent traffic stoppages controlled by flaggers 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday, Feb. 3, to Friday, Feb. 7.

New Jersey side

  • Route 29 NB Bypass – Around-the-clock closure with traffic diversion through I-295/Route 29 interchange’s connector ramps and roundabouts to Route 29 NB upstream of the Scudder Falls Toll Bridge, expected to continue into mid-February. Detour: Follow signs for Route 29 NB through the interchange’s roundabouts and connector ramps amps for reconnection with mainline Route 29 NB and travel toward Washington Crossing, Lambertville and other points north.  (See accompanying map.)
  • I-295 NB (PA-Bound) – Intermittent off-peak single-lane pattern extending onto the new completed span of the Scudder Falls Toll Bridge 7 p.m. to 2 p.m. (next day) Monday, Feb. 3, to Friday, Feb. 7.
  • I-295 SB (NJ-Bound) – Intermittent off-peak single-lane pattern permitted 10 a.m. to 6 a.m. (next day) Monday, Feb. 3, to Friday, Feb. 7.
  • Route 29 SB & NB in the vicinity of Scudder Falls Toll Bridge – Intermittent FLAGGER-controlled travel 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday, Feb. 3, to Friday, Feb. 7.
  • NJ Route 175/River Road in the vicinity of the Scudder Falls Toll Bridge –Intermittent alternating single-lane travel with traffic controlled by flaggers 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday, Feb. 3, to Friday, Feb. 7.
  • NJ Route 175/River Road Entry Ramp to I-295 SB – 24/7 closure continuing until spring 2021. DETOUR: Use the southern roundabout at the nearby I-295/Route 29 interchange to access the on-ramp for I-295 SB.

The aforementioned scheduled travel restrictions are subject to change due to weather, emergency, traffic, and equipment/materials mobilization considerations.  Motorists are urged to allow extra time to reach their destinations, reduce speeds and exercise caution when travelling through project work areas.

Weekends

Aside from the closure of the NJ Route 29 bypass roadway at the I-295/Route 29 interchange, no project-related lane closures are scheduled for the weekends of Feb. 1-2 and 8-9.

Delaware Canal Towpath (PA side) – Intermittent daytime closures possible 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays for overhead I-295 approach bridge construction through February; open on weekends.  Delaware & Raritan Canal Towpath (NJ side) – Scheduled to be open through February.

Lower Bucks County Municipalities Declare Snow Emergencies

Lower Bucks municipalities has declared snow emergencies on Friday in advance of the expected snow storm that the National Weather Service says will dump anywhere between 10 to 15 inches on the Lower Bucks County area

A winter storm warning is in effect from 7 pm Saturday to 1 pm Monday.

Lower Makefield Township Police Reports – Jan 9 2026 – Jan 13 2026

1/13/2026
Burglary – 1400 block of Heather Ridge Dr. reported at 12:25 a.m. Police responded to the report of a burglary not in progress at the location. Further investigation revealed surveillance video from 1/9 at 6:19 p.m. showed two unknown person(s) used a ladder to force entry via a second floor bathroom window. Jewelry reported missing at this time. Investigation ongoing.

Fraud – 700 block of Bushnell Ln. reported at 9:11 a.m.. Complainant reported known person petitioned a fraudulent POA against them and has been wiring money from their account without authorization.

1/12/2026
Credit Card Fraud – 600 block Leslie Ln. reported at 1:17 p.m.. Complainant reported unauthorized use of their credit card in the amount of $10,800.00.

1/11/2026
Criminal Mischief – 1900 block Woodside Rd. at the Garden of Reflection reported at 8:42 a.m. Complainant reported unknown person(s) drove a quad through the fields and caused heavy turf damage. Investigation also revealed damage at Woodside Rd. & Dolington Rd. Investigation ongoing.

DUI & Endangering Welfare of Children Arrest – 900 block of Vansant Dr. at Wegmans reported at 9:06 p.m. Police responded to the report of an intoxicated female who was denied the purchase of alcohol and had a young child in her custody. Upon police arrival, they observed the female operating a vehicle. A traffic stop was conducted. The 44 year old female from LMT was taken into police custody. She was charged with DUI & Endangering the Welfare of Children. She was arraigned by District Justice Petrucci and sent to BCCF in lieu of $25,000/10% bail.

1/10/2026
Burglary– 1300 block of Prospect Farm Dr. reported at 12:56 a.m.. Police responded to the report of a burglary not in progress at the location. Further investigation revealed unknown person(s) forced entry into the residence via a second floor bedroom window and removed a firearm, jewelry, and approximately $15,000 cash. Investigation ongoing.
