A 44 year -old mother from Trenton, New Jersey, with her two minor children, and a second woman from Trenton were arrested and charged for retail theft a week before Christmas.
Cherri Crews was arraigned by the on-call district judge on two counts of corruption of minors and retail theft charges for an alleged shop lifting incident at Kohl’s in Lower Makefield Township.
According to police, officers were dispatched to the Kohl’s on Big Oak Road in Yardley on December 18 after Bucks County Radio (BCR) notified them of a retail theft in progress.
Kohls Loss Prevention Officer reported to the radio room four known subjects -two women and two minors- were currently inside concealing merchandise, police, said in court papers.
Police arrived at the scene and were informed by the LPO the four suspects were leaving the store.
Officers located a woman named Giselle Rivas and a male minor inside a Honda Odyssey. Police detained both individuals and found store merchandise nearby in the vehicle, according to the affidavit.
The LPO informed police that the other two individuals were inside the store putting items back. Police located the minor and Crews taken both into custody.
According to the probable cause, the four were inside the business concealing merchandise the LPO told police. Loss prevention estimated the merchandise be valued at slightly more than $490.00
All subjects were taken back to police headquarters where Crews and Rivas were processed without incident.
Charges for the minors were sent to authorities that over see cases involving underage children, police said in court records .
Crews, was charged with two counts of retail theft. They were both released on unsecure bail with a pending court date of January 6, 2026. Neither woman has an attorney of record, according to online court records.
