Lane Closures Continue as Bridge Repair, Roadway Construction Planned on I-295, U.S. 1 in Middletown Twp.

PennDOT announced that bridge repair and roadway construction will occur next week on I-295 and U.S. 1 in Middletown Township.

Motorists are advised of the following travel restrictions:

  • Monday, December 16, through Thursday, December 19, from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. the following morning, a single lane closure will be in place on eastbound and westbound I-295 approaching U.S. 1 for bridge repair.
  • Monday, December 16, through Thursday, December 19, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., a right or left lane closure will be in place on southbound U.S. 1 approaching the I-295 overpass for a traffic shift.
  • Tuesday, December 17, through Thursday, December 19, from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m., the following morning, a right lane closure will be in place on southbound U.S. 1 approaching the I-295 overpass for barrier installation.

Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work areas because backups and delays will occur. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.
