A virtual meeting with participation by state Rep. Joe Hogan and local officials about the future reconstruction of the Brownsville Road Bridge over the Neshaminy Creek was held last week.
While the community has recently been impacted by significant road construction, detours and delays, this project is needed to improve the safety of this important bridge, Hogan said.
PennDOT expects to award the contract later this year with construction being completed in 2027. Due to environmental concerns with the Neshaminy watershed, construction will be halted during specific periods of time which is contributing to the extended timeline, according to Hogan.
As the project commences, Hogan said information will be communicated as it becomes available.
