Hulmeville Woman Defrauded of More Than $7,000 in Bank Transfers

A 77-year-old woman became the latest victim of fraud when she reported she sent over $7,000  through bank transfers to an unknown person.

On Thursday, February 13, at approximately 11:45 a.m. Pennsylvania State Police (PSP) were dispatched to the 100 block of Trenton Road in Hulmeville Borough for the report of a theft.

Upon arrival, troopers spoke with a female inside the living room of the residence. The victim reported on February 4 at approximately 12 p.m., she made multiple wire transfers from her bank account in the value of $7610 to a unknown suspect (s).

After speaking with her family, it was determined to be fraudulent.

The wire fraud incident is under investigation by the PSP.
