PennDOT announced construction activities will continue next week on Interstate 95 in Northeast Philadelphia.
Motorists are advised of the following travel restrictions:
- From 6 a.m. Monday, August 12, continuously until 3 p.m. Friday, August 16, the ramp from Aramingo Avenue to northbound and southbound I-95 at the Betsy Ross Bridge Interchange will be closed for concrete repair and intersection improvements. Motorists will be directed to the adjacent intersection of Aramingo Avenue and Adams Avenue for access to and from I-95.
- Monday, August 12, through Friday, August 16, from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. the following morning, alternating left and right single lane closures will be in place on southbound I-95 between the Bridge Street and Betsy Ross Bridge interchanges for pavement repairs.
- Monday, August 12, through Friday, August 16, a single lane closure will be in place at 9 p.m. followed by a double lane closure at midnight to 5 a.m. on northbound and southbound I-95 between Bleigh Avenue and Ashburner Street for reflector installation.
Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work areas because backups and delays will occur. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.
The pavement repair and pavement reflector installation are part of PennDOT’s $37.4 million project to perform high-priority repairs on 27 I-95 bridges in Philadelphia, to maintain the functionality, safety, and mobility of the structures along this critical corridor.
The intersection work is part of the substantially completed, $93.6 million I-95 Section BR2 project to improve the connections with I-95 to and from the bridge and surface streets at the Betsy Ross Bridge interchange.
