Starting tonight at 8 p.m., tonight, (Friday, August 23rd), PennDOT announced bridge repairs are planned this weekend on U.S. 1 (Roosevelt Expressway) in Philadelphia under a $100.6 million project to rehabilitate the Wayne Junction Viaduct over SEPTA tracks and Nicetown neighborhood in Philadelphia.
- Friday, August 23, from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. the following morning, a right lane closure is planned on southbound U.S. 1 (Roosevelt Expressway) between Ridge Avenue and I-76. The ramp from southbound U.S. 1 to westbound I-76 will also close at this time.
- Friday, August 23, from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m., Sunday, August 25, periodic single and double lane closures are planned on southbound U.S. 1 (Roosevelt Expressway) between Henry Avenue and I-76. The ramp from southbound U.S. 1 to westbound I-76 will also close at this time.
During the ramp closure, motorists are directed to use eastbound I-76, Montgomery Avenue, and westbound I-76.
Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work areas because significant backups and delays will occur. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.
