PennDOT announced bridge repairs are planned at night this weekend on U.S. 1 (Roosevelt Expressway) under a $100.6 million project to rehabilitate the Wayne Junction Viaduct over the SEPTA tracks and Nicetown neighborhood in Philadelphia.
- From 8 p.m. Friday, July 19, to 5 a.m. Monday, July 22, lane closures are planned on northbound U.S. 1 (Roosevelt Expressway) between Interstate 76 (Schuylkill Expressway) and Fox Street.
- From 8 p.m. Friday, July 19, to 5 a.m. Monday, July 22, the ramp from eastbound I-76 (Schuylkill Expressway) to northbound U.S. 1 (Roosevelt Expressway) will be closed and detoured. Motorists will be directed to exit at Montgomery Drive and use westbound I-76 (Schuylkill Expressway) to access northbound U.S. 1 (Roosevelt Expressway).
Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work areas because significant backups and delays will occur. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.
