Update June 28 8 pm

Earlier today Bristol Borough Police filed more charges against Angel Rivera Jr, 44, of Bristol Borough  for two more incidents; one occurring last Saturday when he was taken into custody by police on the warrant filed last week and a second for an alleged June 7th incident.

Police filed a single count misdemeanor charge of terroristic threats from his arrest last weekend. He allegedly threatened to shoot the victim, who is renting an apartment from him,  when he was arrested last Saturday night.

The second set of charges; two counts of terroristic threats; one count of harassment; three summary offenses for disorderly conduct- are connected to a violent diatribe directed at the same tenant, police said.

Rivera is currently in Bucks County Prison  (see original story below). This is the fifth criminal case filed against him in the last eight months.

Original Story

It just keeps getting worse for a Bristol Borough landlord who was arrested late Saturday night on a warrant filed by Bristol Borough Police Friday for creating the potential for an “explosion.”

Angel Rivera  Jr. weeks away from his 45th birthday, was jailed early Sunday morning on one count of felony witness/victim  intimidation, one count felony criminal mischief-reckless damage to property, and misdemeanor counts of reckless endangerment and harassment. He was sent to Bucks County Prison by Bensalem District Judge Joseph P. Falcone in lieu of 10 percent of $70,000 bail.

Rivera has been raging against the victim  since she moved into the home, he owns and rents to her, on 150 block of Buckley Street.

The June 25th arrest warrant accuses Rivera of:

  • Tampering with a PECO  Gas Line/Meter by placing a lock on it.
  • Cutting two live PECO Electric Lines.
  • Cutting a hole in between the two domiciles to gain access to damage the above.
  • Recklessly tampering with the gas/electric lines to jeopardize a person or property the statute reads.

Police noted with the “live” wires and gas turned off it caused  a “danger” for the victim and her family exposing them to a probable “explosion,” if ignited, in the arrest warrant.

Police were dispatched to the 150 block of Race Street at around 10:50 pm Saturday night for a community disturbance report. When police arrived on scene Rivera who had an active arrest warrant filed against him the day before, was told by the  responding officers they were taking him into custody on the judicial writ, which he resisted.  According to witnesses. Rivera held on to a fence, kicking and screaming  and wouldn’t let go as officers attempted to take him into custody. Rivera allegedly threatened to “shoot” the victim in the “face” a witness told the publication Sunday.

An officer employed his taser to subdue Rivera, handcuffed him taking him into custody, witnesses said.

It is Rivera’s fourth arrest connected to his alleged continued harassment of the victim and her family since moving into the Buckley St residence last October.

Last year, Rivera was charged with two theft related counts, and conspiracy offenses, for tampering with the victim’s property. Specifically, he allegedly cut off the gas/power lines into the victim’s apartment, according to court records. In April and May of this year, Rivera was charged with intimidating the victim and related offenses.

In late April Lower Bucks Source received a “tip” from a “concerned community member” about Rivera’s alleged threatening of the victim, her family and visitors to her home. The tipster, at the time, said they were concerned about the health and welfare of the entire family and pointed to social media posts created by the suspect under the profile of June Saez in which he posts pictures and commentary. In a June post (see below)  Rivera alleges the victim and her family are “trespassers.” He has lost twice in eviction proceedings, according to court records, against the victim. As a result, he owes just over $4500.00 for individual liability to the victim, court records show. Rivera can appeal since it was “dismissed without prejudice,” but he has yet to do so.

The suspect, however, continues to berate the victim and attack police making  unfounded allegations on social media about the criminal cases filed against him.

Of note and Rivera has said in online discussion forums, he has (see screenshot below) a “disability.” As part of a 2017 guilty plea agreement for drug dealing, he was ordered to seek mental health and drug treatment, court records show.

Rivera, according to county records violated that probation agreement and has remained under supervision by the Bucks County Department of Probation and Parole.

Rivera posted ads to sell his Buckley St home for $285,000 “cash” According to Zillow.com the home was taken off the market on June 1.

It was listed at a selling price of $310,000.00

Rivera was taken to Lower Bucks Hospital before he was arraigned to be medically cleared due to being tased and fighting with responding officers, sources told LBS Sunday. Rivera was not charged for resisting as of Monday evening. He is scheduled to appear for preliminary hearings in the three other cases August 16. This new case is tentatively scheduled for July 5 but most likely will be moved to a later date.
